New Words

Well I haven't posted in a while and I thought I would update on little guy.  He is now a month away from his second birthday and is at least attempting more words.  Most of his words still lack consonants but it is still progress and I am so proud of the little guy! He is actually saying Mama now which is so awesome.  And he attempts other words.  He is still struggling with a lot of sensory stuff and repetitive behaviors but the speech improvement is awesome.

My eldest has really been doing great with his schoolwork.  He has taken an interest in drawing lately and has been drawing the most intricate pictures and writing stories and poems to go with them.  Although I think his concept of a poem is a little limited as they seem to be just a jumble of words, but ya never know he might end up being the next big artist/poet.  This interest really shocks me as he has been so stuck on math for several years now that it was like pulling teeth to get him to do anything literature related even though he has been reading since he was three.  He just didn't like any of that stuff.  While he still isn't huge on pulling out a book, he loves to write and draw and make his own little books which he proudly reads to everyone.

Now my little girl is in the tail end of preschool now and we have started working on money and telling time.  So far she is just absorbing it like a little sponge.  We just started the unit so we will have to see how it goes.

We have been enjoying scattered days of spring weather around here and have been spending lots of time in the yard.  Unfortunately I ended up leaving my camera out in the rain a few days ago.  This means I may not have pics to post for a while.  :(  I do have my camera in a bowl of rice.  I am told that can pull the moisture out, but seriously it got really soaked.  Hopefully it will survive since it is only like four months old.  I will be so mad at myself if it is ruined.
